It was the summer of 1987 when my parents decided to take me and my younger brother to the newly opened freddy fazbear‘s Pizza in our town. As a 10-year-old, I was beyond excited to finally visit the popular family entertainment restaurant that had captured the hearts of children all over the country. Little did I know, this seemingly innocent outing would turn into a traumatic experience that would haunt me for years to come.

As we entered the brightly lit arcade-style pizzeria, I was immediately drawn to the life-sized animatronic characters that adorned the walls. The smell of freshly baked pizzas, arcade games, and the sound of children’s laughter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and excitement. My brother and I eagerly ran around the place, trying out different games and posing for photos with the lovable Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica. But amidst all the fun and games, something sinister was lurking in the shadows of Freddy Fazbear’s. Something that would shatter my innocent perception of the world and leave me scarred for life.

It was during our third visit to the restaurant when I first encountered one of the employees who would change my life forever.

He was a tall and lanky man with a sinister smile and greasy hair, dressed as the infamous purple character, “Purple Guy.” At first, I was thrilled to see one of the characters walking around and interacting with the kids, little did I know that he had ulterior motives.

As I was playing a game, he suddenly approached me and started making inappropriate comments about my appearance. I was confused and uncomfortable, but being a naive child, I brushed it off as him being in character.

But things took a dark turn when he asked me to follow him to a secluded area, promising me a special prize. I remember feeling a sense of dread, but I didn’t want to miss out on a chance for a rare prize. As we reached the secluded area, he suddenly grabbed me and began touching me inappropriately. I was paralyzed with fear and didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t until my brother came looking for me that the man quickly let go and disappeared into the crowd. Shaken and confused, I didn’t know how to process what had just happened. I felt dirty, scared, and betrayed. But worse than that, I felt like I couldn’t tell anyone. Who would believe a 10-year-old’s story against a trusted employee of a popular restaurant? Years went by, but the memory of that summer day never left me. Every time I saw a Freddy Fazbear’s commercial or passed by the restaurant, I couldn’t help but shudder. I was angry and bitter that such a horrible experience had happened to me in a place that was supposed to be a source of joy and happiness. But what was even more frustrating was the lack of action taken by the restaurant against their employee’s actions. All I got was a lousy t-shirt from a place that had caused me so much pain. It wasn’t until years later when other stories of abuse and misconduct at Freddy Fazbear’s came to light that I realized I wasn’t the only victim. Today, I am sharing my story in the hopes that it will shed light on the dark truth behind the facade of Freddy Fazbear’s. It’s time for others to know the truth and for justice to be served. Because no child should ever have to go through what I did, and a lousy t-shirt is not enough to make up for the long-lasting trauma.
